Leaving Africa to Become African is an audio essay formatted as 4 letters exchanged between to African women between Europe and Africa. The piece speaks to the tensions of existing between antipodal worlds as Black women, and extends on the nuances of collectivity that are strengthened and sometimes weakened by proximity to privilege as a result of diaspora movement. On a broader scale, the piece speaks about the crisis of brain-drain from Africa.
